 Croton (Codiaeum variegatum) 'Gold Dust' is a popular cultivar of the Croton plant, known for its striking and colorful foliage. The most prominent feature of Croton 'Gold Dust' is its bold, variegated leaves. The leaves are medium-sized, about 2 to 6 inches long, and have an elliptical or lanceolate shape. The leaf margins are slightly wavy, adding to the overall visual appeal.

The 'Gold Dust' variety gets its name from the distinctive speckled appearance of its leaves. The base color of the leaves is typically deep green or dark green. On top of this base color, there are bright yellow to gold spots or speckles, which resemble gold dust scattered across the foliage. The distribution and intensity of the gold speckles may vary among individual plants.

This variety of Croton thrives in bright, indirect light. It requires plenty of light to maintain its vibrant leaf colors. Too much direct sunlight can cause leaf scorching, so it's best to provide filtered or partially shaded sunlight, especially during the hottest part of the day.
