The Nematanthus gregarius, commonly known as the Goldfish Plant, is a charming and distinctive houseplant known for its unique, bright orange, and tubular flowers that resemble goldfish.
The Goldfish Plant has glossy, deep green leaves with an elliptical or ovate shape. The leaves serve as an attractive backdrop to the striking flowers. The most captivating feature of the Goldfish Plant is its peculiar flowers. The tubular blossoms resemble small goldfish, complete with a "tail" and "mouth." The flowers are predominantly bright orange, often with yellow or red accents, which make them look like vibrant goldfish swimming among the leaves.
Goldfish Plants typically bloom in cycles, and their flowers can appear sporadically throughout the year, especially in the spring and summer.
Goldfish Plants thrive in bright, indirect light. They should be shielded from direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves and flowers. A location with filtered or dappled sunlight is ideal.
